The Beautiful Carrot Flowers

Carrots are biennial plants, the plants store all of their first year’s energy in the long tasty orange taproots. If left in the ground, they will flower in their second year, and produce attractive and beautiful white umbels flowers.

These white flowers, of small size, are grouped in umbels. These umbels can have 20 or 30 rays

This biennial plant will attract beneficial insects and also produce a bounty of flower heads

The carrot family contains many familiar cultivated and economically important species such as parsnips, celery, fennel, parsley, and coriander.

Storing Carot Seeds

Store the seeds in the freezer for several days to kill parasite larvae. Well saved carrot seeds are able to germinate for up to five years.

Carrot seeds are also used as a spice and can add a layer of flavor to many dishes.

Carrots are biennial, flowering in their second year of growth.

Flowering takes place from May to October.
