🌱 It all starts with a tiny seed!
Today we're beginning a new gardening project: growing a palm tree from seed. 🌴
This is Step 1 — Germination, and I'm showing you a simple way to prepare the seeds and create a humid environment for them.
💧 SOAKING THE SEEDS
Start by soaking the palm seeds in clean water for up to two weeks.
The goal is to help soften the seed coat.
🔄 Change the water every couple of days and always use fresh water.
🪴 PLANTING THE SEEDS
Prepare a plastic container with a lid.
Fill it halfway with premoistened small wood chips.
Rinse your soaked seeds and place them individually on the growing medium.
Then gently press each seed into the wood chips and cover it.
💦 CREATE A HUMID ENVIRONMENT
Give the medium a light mist with a spray bottle.
Close the container and place it somewhere warm and suitable for germination.
Now...
⏳ LET NATURE DO ITS WORK!
Palm seeds don't all germinate at the same speed. Depending on the species and conditions, germination can take weeks to many months.
So don't throw those seeds away just because nothing happens immediately!
